I can highly recommend getting the Berlin Welcome card, we paid 46 euros each for a 6 day pass, covering all Berlin and Postdam, i ordered this online before i came out and we collected it at the airport so we were able to use it for travelling to the hotel straight away. The location within very easy walking distance from the metro makes it a good base for a few days in Berlin. The rooms are brown and cream in design. The beds are typically set up a bit like two singles pushed together but we found them remarkably more comfortable than other places we have stayed with this set up. And I strongly recommend you to choose an other hotel. This is a newly renovated or newly built hotel, very clean, simply but effectively decorated and furnished, next to a few restaurants and cafés, in a quiet residential area, near to Berlin's downtown. Air conditioner does not work, and front desk is useless. The breakfast was perfect. The reception staff were very helpful and spoke excellent English. I would prefer it was right first time. What we did was to go to a bakery 50 meters away from the hotel and had breakfast there for 10 euros for the both of us. We left a watch in the room and the cleaner had it and gave it back which we respected. Our bathroom and room was brilliant. And neart to metro station. We had a late flight scheduled but was able to leave our luggage in the lockers that they provide. Unfortunately my Macbook, headphones, Ipad and some money was stolen from the room. Also there is a nice beakery near by. Solution was to keep our bottles in the fridge with reception. Hotel was excellent value. Prices of the rooms are steadily going up, but it happens with more hotels in Berlin. Was not clear why I should show the confirmation letter. Definitely recommended for a city break. Breakfast was excellent. Great if you are a couple but a bit too cosy if you are staying with friends. Hotel is well placed and room was exactly what we needed. There is certainly a coffee shop, a restaurant and a bar within short distance of it. Walking distance (15min) to DDR Museum or the Berlin cathedral. Our first room had a strong smell of smoke in bathroom and we were moved when we reported it. We had upgraded our room so it was of a good size. Scrambled eggs that are both burnt and runny? Spent 2 nights here. 1254450,1261140,1242370|3,1259440,1261020,1216210,1255250,1257680,1260550|5,1254240,1260030,1238790,1260040,1257320,1260650,1242370|1,1174220,1257510,1254300,1260550|7,1259530|4,1259530,1147480,1242370,1257190, Best Western Hotel am Spittelmarkt (Hotel), Berlin (Germany) Deals, Amenities of Best Western Hotel am Spittelmarkt, Staff follow all safety protocols as directed by local authorities, Hand sanitizer in guest accommodation and common areas, Use of cleaning chemicals that are effective against coronavirus, Linens, towels, and laundry washed in accordance with local authority guidelines, Guest accommodation disinfected between stays, Property cleaned by professional cleaning companies, Guests have the option to cancel any cleaning services for their accommodation during their stay, Screens or physical barriers between staff and guests in appropriate areas, Food can be delivered to guest accommodation, All plates, cutlery, glasses, and other tableware sanitized. Didn't take breakfast option - are over the road in a cafe for half the price ! Please notice if you are check in to this hotel, 2 pm is the check in time. Stayed here for a weekend with a friend, we got it for a very good price and were very impressed with the standards of the hotel, as well as the service provided. You get what you pay for. In a good place for walking to everywhere, which is handy to save a few euros with not needing to buy the train pass each day. Service was very nice and staff was friendly. The rates went up and he still managed to give me a good deal. The hotel was very clean with modern facilities and even had a small bar. Staff argumentative, rude and unhelpful. We upgraded the room to a delux and even that was on the small side so I can only imagine that the normal rooms are could be very cramped. Very comfortable hotel with excellent location. The room was very clean and quiet, and the beds were very comfy. I was slightly concerned about using this hotel as a base for my escapades in Berlin but I need not have worried - my concern stems mainly from the large number of reviews that I had read mentioning the poor quality of the Wi-Fi in this hotel but as you will read later on in this review it was not a problem at all. Excellent location! yes we allow children in our Hotel. The other way up the Leipziger Strasse you can take a short walk to the Nikolai viertel area where you step back in time to a more traditional German setting and a range of restaurants. 뀐 We had comfort room, standards are too small, comfort is basic but okay. What is nice there is a nice spanish restaurant on the oposit side. The area is relatively quiet/residential but we did experience some street noise at night which we obviously couldn't do anything about as we needed to have the windows open due to the heat. Our room, 241 looked out over another building but it was very quiet. Please enter the dates of your stay and check what conditions apply to your preferred room. These repairs may be completed by the time you are deciding to book. I did not take breakfast or food, so no idea about that. This is a great hotel, it doesn't cost much and for a low cost hotel, close to all amenities with the staff making our stay all the more personal in such a big city....I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others giving it 5 stars. Warm and polite treatment of the personnel was the best part of staying in this hotel. Finally breakfast - I again felt that this was very overpriced. The tv has a good selection of channels such as CNN and Comedy Central. I would stay again. The "A/C" simply blew warm air around the room making it hot sweaty and hard to sleep. When we arrived we were told we'd been given a room upgrade. The shower was too small. We had the breakfast twice, and thought it was really good. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...). This worked at times but frequently stopped. This is so useful especially if you're going for three days and will be using public transport quite a bit. We did not sleep good, and my back and neck hurt . No black tea available even at reception-fruit tea, peppermint & Earl Grey. The room was a good size and spotlessly clean. The venue comprises … Yes we were offered to change rooms but a/c was supposed to be looked at and never was and our 2nd room for family also was poorly air conditioned. Bicycles were available to rent - and the staff were happy to order a taxi (that came in two minutes). Staff was helpful and amiable. Staff were efficient and polite. Make no mistake: the breakfast is very good and the variety is impressing! Everything was clean. It was very easy to get around and takes you to some of the further out locations. Great easy to find hotel Close to tune station on main line. Great location, close to many Berlins attractions. On Monday morning at around 7 the garbage containers were moved to the street side with much noice, to be emptied around 8 and with the same amount of noice returned to the building. The reception could ask just passport. Bed was large with a really soft but comfortable mattress. They had coffee making facilities which was appreciated as most hotels in the places we stayed at in Europe do not provide this. The very immediate surroundings of the hotel offer very little in the way of facilities. Shower worked fine. My room smelled of cigarettes and damp. The AC is not an AC at all. Bed was great, TV with many channels. There is also an ATM machine right outside the hotel but the area itself is really quiet. We did not try breakfast (offered at 12 Euros). Around the hotel is a few restaurants, Tapas Y Mas is excellent and the bakery at the end of the street is good in the morning. The staff were not friendly. So no need to book the expensive hotel breakfast. They said there were no rooms left and they were fully booked and that we could get a discount the next day. The front desk ladies were not that friendly but they speak English. Great location for all site seeing in Berlin. Safe and all the amenities available in your hotel room. The shower-room was large by comparison, probably because their wasn't a bath, by the shower was powerful, sure woke me up. Particularly like the idea of luggage lockers so you can leave them in the hotel on your last day and go back and collect them later. Perfect location for my purpose, very accessible. The room was nice and clean. I an't really add anything about this hotel that hasn't already been said, it was everything we wanted and i have no complaints. What will happened if I not have my mobile with me to know confirmation? One first good point has been the location, very close to a U-bahn station - important while traveling under such bad weather. Room was simple and smallish but had all we needed. On arrival we were met by a receptionist who spoke excellent English and got us checked in with minimum fuss. Comfortable Hotel, with everything you might need. The room was good with adequate closet and nice bathroom. Not too far a walk from tourist locations such as Checkpoint Charlie, and then from there most people just walk to the other attractions. this was the first time visting berlin and we are both glad we chose this hotel. The bottle of water, on first appearance looks to be included in the room price, but if you read the room book, it costs €2.50. Then later at check in, the room was fine but the toilet in the bathroom was covered in mold and the bathroom smelled of mold as well. I did not eat breakfast but was told by another guest that it was very nice. The breakfast is excellent with a full range of food to choose from . Service and cleanness are average. The nights were constantly spent pushing the beds back together as they moved too freely. Amazing breakfast, lots to eat. The sachets weren't replenished daily. If you arrive too early from the airport (hotel check in starts at 14:00) there are plenty of lockers for storing luggage. Very nice hotel, friendly staff. I booked through Hotel website and had an offer of 3nights for the price of 2, so definitely value for money. Showers good, bathroom fairly large. The "bar" is part of reception so not really a place for an evening to relax in, Overall though its a good reasonably priced base. We've sent you an email so you can confirm your subscription. right at the corner there is a coffeshop with proper breakfast selection which is quite nice. Children 6 and above are considered adults at this property. Thank you. We had a room for 3 with more space then expected. Would definitely recommend it. The location is a little further from the city than we would normally like but we needed somewhere reasonable priced and it was just for one night. Large size of the room! They were happy to provide city maps, change large Euro notes into smaller ones, print off tickets etc. We had a great tapas meal accross the road. I booked for 7 nights, but stayed only one. Housekeeping lax. We did not have breakfast at the hotel because it costed 12€/day extra. If you know Berlin well, as we do, this is a great place to base yourself as you can walk to quite a number of the main parts of the 'old East' which is now really the new Zentrum. Rooms very clean shame building work was going on next to hotel room was booked on line with easy jet so can't complain as had not spoken direct with hotel very nice cafe opposite called cappuccino train station round corner will return again. The breakfast is ok, it's nice and a buffet style so plenty to go around however, it does lack variation. Nonetheless, not a detractor. I booked the suit room because of the thought that this room will be as closed as the suit room we stayed at our previous hotel on our previos vacations. They offered to let us change to another room, which is quite disruptive, and gave us a fan which didn't help much. Staff helps in what you need, always avaliable to help. Staff very friendly and informative. Room was very clean. They arrange transfers, and bookings to what ever is required. He was very abrupt with us so where the hotel would have usually been given a higher rating for the location, the poor wifi and abrupt staff have sullied my view somewhat. They will hold bags for you in lockers. Stayed here for a few days with my college group. Its really safe and silent area. We went to our rooms which whilst being very clean, they were very small with 2 single beds pushed together. The room was fine, very clean and had all the usual amenities (The shower is great), although if you want tea and coffee making equipment you need to pick that up at reception, a bit strange but no hassle. So if you are on a higher floor, your room could be screaming hot if the temperature is 14 degrees.
